mise-goose
A mise tool plugin for the Goose programming language.
It installs the prebuilt compilers from Goose's GitHub releases for macOS (arm64, x64), Linux (x64) and Windows (x64).
Install
mise plugin install goose https://git.hgranthorner.dev/grant/mise-goose
mise use goose@latest
goose --help
From a local checkout:
mise plugin link goose /path/to/mise-goose
How it works
- Versions come from the GitHub releases API (tags
vYYYY.N, listed asYYYY.N), skipping drafts and releases without archives. - Install downloads
goose-v<version>-<platform>and keeps the archive as unpacked: the compiler findsstdlib, tcclibandpkgbeside itself, so the install root (not abin/) goes onPATH. - On macOS the quarantine attribute is cleared after install.
Goose itself still needs a few things from the system; see "Install a release"
in Goose's README (the Xcode command line tools on macOS, libc headers on
Linux, and a C compiler for goose build). Built artifacts go to ~/.goose
(GOOSE_HOME).
